An electric mild, lamp, or mild bulb is an electrical gadget that produces gentle from electricity. It's the most common type of synthetic lighting. Lamps often have a base fabricated from ceramic, metallic, glass, or plastic that secures them within the socket of a light fixture, which can also be commonly known as a 'lamp.' The electrical connection to the socket could also be made with a screw-thread base, two steel pins, two metal caps or a bayonet mount. The three major categories of electric lights are incandescent lamps, which produce mild by a filament heated white-hot by electric current, fuel-discharge lamps, which produce mild by means of an electric arc via a gas, equivalent to fluorescent lamps, and LED lamps, which produce light by a flow of electrons throughout a band gap in a semiconductor. The energy effectivity of electric lighting has significantly improved since the primary demonstrations of arc lamps and incandescent mild bulbs in the nineteenth century.
