Latin memoria 'Memory Wave System, remembrance') is any nonfiction narrative writing based mostly on the writer's private memories. The assertions made within the work are thus understood to be factual. While memoir has historically been defined as a subcategory of biography or autobiography for the reason that late 20th century, the style is differentiated in type, presenting a narrowed focus, usually a specific time section in someone's life or profession.
